Position Profile

The General Manager position is a new leadership position for Whakawhetu under its new structure. My role is to develop a high performing service to reduce the incidence of SUDI within Māori populations and provide national leadership in Māori childhood health gain through innovative effective and efficient use of available resources.

Cultural Profile

Learning to be fluent in Te Reo Māori changed my life and ignited my passion for kaupapa Māori. Since this time, I have always had a focus on Māori development and population health. I am very confident in Te Ao Māori which has been further developed by leading many whānau and work related kaupapa.

Career Profile

I have worked as an educator for Te Wānanga o Aotearoa; in Public Health for Waikato DHB; and in a policy role for Te Rūnanga o Kirikiriroa. For the past three years my post at the Ministry of Health has enabled further development in my abilities to translate strategy into operations. My new role in Whakawhetu provides an opportunity for my experiences to inform service development.
