Mokopuna Ora Seminars

These regional seminars are designed for anyone working with whānau who have an interest in increasing their knowledge about the kaupapa of Mokopuna Ora and aim to broaden participants knowledge about SUDI whilst providing opportunity to build networks, share and access information from experts working in the field of SUDI prevention.

Whilst each seminar is uniquely designed collaboratively with a range of providers and are tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of each DHB region, they can vary in length from 1 or 2 day seminars. Despite the length, each forum focuses on providing opportunities to share innovative ideas about how best to support wāhine hapū and their whānau through showcasing strategies and activities that encourage māmā to breastfeed, support the whānau and wāhine hapū to become and remain smokefree.  Presentations will include keynote speakers and workshop streams that explorie the themes of Innovation, Social Determinants of Health and the importance of Communicating with Whānau, Each seminar will conclude with a workshop and panel discussion that will help shape some key action points that all in attendance will collectively agree to work towards.

Regional seminars are open to the health and social services workforce, whānau, community members or anyone with an interest in or is passionate about, child health, maternal health, well-being and strengthening leadership in SUDI.

There is a $25 registration fee for those in paid employment who earn over $50k. Whānau, community members and non-paid volunteers are FREE.

Numbers are limited  therefore early registration is advised.

The seminar is accredited by the Midwifery Council for 5 hours Professional activity points.
