Protecting the Lives of Mäori babies
Service Overview
What do we do?
We provide education and training packages focused on strengthening the workforce to support Māori families reduce the risk of SUDI to their babies. Our programmes are tailored to meet the needs of stakeholders. Training packages range from lectures, small and large group discussions, half day and full day workshops.
The new focus of our Education and Training service is to work with other providers who deliver education to our target audiences, and support them to incorporate Maori SIDS Modules into their existing education programmes.

Who can do our training?
Our programmes target anyone who engages with Māori families and has an opportunity to influence and support their parenting practices. Previous participants have included general practitioners (GPs), practice and community nurses, lead maternity carers (LMCs) community health workers, Plunket and Tamariki ora nurses, Māori community health workers and other allied workers.
