What is a Sleep Apnea Monitor?

These monitors sense minute breathing when a baby is sleeping. Some monitors can also check baby’s heart rate. Monitors have sensor pads that are placed on the mattress under the baby; this is a passive device and does not pass any electrical current. It simply, passively, senses your baby’s breathing motions. An operating panel is your indicator and attaches to the side of your baby’s bed. This panel will ensure you that everything is fine with your baby. If baby’s breath rate drops to an unsafe level or stops, you will be alerted by a loud audible alarm indicating that baby may need urgent attention. This monitor operates on regular AA batteries and has a low battery indicator.
